Our second workshop in our Meet the Maker series was with textile designer and fashion illustrator Helen Bullock. Her signature expressive and painterly illustrative style has earned her collaborations with everyone from Anthropologie to Louis Vuitton.
Magna Colours are the world-leading manufacturer of water based textile screen printing inks. They are our go to when we want high quality ink we know we can rely on. We sent them a few questions to find out more about the products they produce and the new technology they are working on.
Dutchscot is a ‘thinking and doing design studio’ who have recently moved into the largest private studio in 3rd Rail Print Space. The team combine knowledge, beauty and audacity to create original, long lasting and meaningful work that lives happily in any of the usual disciplines (as well as some unusual ones). Dutchscot trust intuition but back it up with experience at some of the most renowned design and branding agencies around.

Her bold typographical paste ups championing self love and empowerment have adorned the walls of Peckham Levels as part of a series of commissions and we cant wait to welcome her into 3rd Rail Print Space.
Fairbairn and Wolf is a textiles design studio specialised in screen/digital printing designs and fabric developments for both fashion and interior Industries. The studio has worked with some of the world’s leading fashion brands since they began in 2015, including Gap, Karen Millen and Vera Wang. We joined up with the 3rd Rail Print Space members for a chat about their upcoming work and what inspires them.
Kate Alexander Design is a studio based inside 3rd Rail Print Space specialising in original yarn dye plaid and stripe designs for menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and home furnishing. Kate has worked with some of the world’s leading fashion brands, including, American Eagle, DKNY and French Connection, amongst many more. We joined up with the 3rd Rail Print Space member for a chat about her upcoming work and what inspires her.
After a being successfully funded through Kickstarter we have opened our doors for the first time on 25th January 2018. Having welcomed over 500 visitors last week, our studio is now officially open. We loved meeting everyone who stopped by our space and for all those who didn’t manage to catch the event here are a few photos taken by the talented Sabela Peinado over the course of the launch night.
The 3rd Rail Print Space launch is just around the corner and we couldn’t thank Fourpure enough for sponsoring drinks for the event. Their progressive approach to brewing has led them to be named 2017 Brewery Business of the Year at the Society of Independent Brewers annual awards. We had a quick chat with the family owned and run business about the inspiration behind Fourpure can designs and their advice on running a new company.
Having successfully raised over £10.000 on Kickstarter, we are excited to announce our launch event will be held next week, on Thursday 25th January at the recently opened Peckham Levels. We’ve been working around the clock in the studio to turn the unused carpark space into a comprehensive screen printing studio. We have prepared a wide range of exciting events for the opening night to give new members and visitors a taste of what’s to come.
Multi-talented Daisy Emerson is an illustrator, sign writer, hand-letterer and type enthusiast from London. An established hand-letterer has worked with some of the world’s leading companies and brands including Facebook, Google and Adidas. We had a chat with Daisy about the design she created for our Kickstarter campaign and her love of pastel colours.
Peckham Levels is now open! Thanks to everyone who made it down to the launch party on Friday and stopped by our screen printing station, we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did! The venue was bursting with amazing food and drink from independent traders, pop up events, exhibitions and talks. London-based illustrator Tony Riff learned to draw by copying different styles of cartoons which has helped him to develop his own whimsical style. His work can be described as ‘a colourful mixture of mind blowing, intellectual & playful drawings’. We have asked Tony to create a t-shirt design exclusively for 3rd Rail Print Space Kickstarter.
